Cathedral Formation Updates: July 31
Join Us! On August 14 & 15, we will have sidewalk chalk before and after all Masses. Let’s welcome the VCU students with positive and encouraging messages. Little acts of kindness go a long way when one is away from home.
Thanks for a great VBS!
Thanks to all the adult and youth volunteers that helped make our Virtual VBS a fun and meaningful week for our eighteen families (over 35 kids). We had marshmallow train tracks, singing, dancing, Bible Points written in sidewalk chalk and several service projects geared toward health care providers. We also prayed the Angelus together each day with the help of Fr. Tony and a daily volunteer. Each participant and volunteer made it a special week.
Thank you to the entire parish community for supporting this wonderful program for our children and families. Our VBS in-person camp usually hosts over 30 families (60 children) and has many adult and youth helpers. We could not do it without your support!

Adult Volunteers Needed
We are starting to make plans for the 2020-2021 year for PREK-HS religious education, youth group meetings and service opportunities. Whether we meet on zoom, the parish hall or a classroom - we need adults to create a safe and nurturing environment as we join our children and youth on their journey of becoming closer to Christ. We have so many opportunities and can work with any time commitment you are able to offer. Please contact Joy Weir,
to find out about volunteer opportunities. It is a great time to get trained in any area you would like to volunteer for children and youth. Thank you for your consideration in our children and youth ministry.
Tuesdays Together Resumes
Our Tuesdays Together program for children ages 0 to 5 years old is going on vacation in July. We plan to resume in August. If you would like to join us for future gatherings - please email Joy Weir at
Every Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. we meet for morning prayer via Zoom. Some of us are more awake than others, but we come together in prayer to start the day with gratitude and hope in Christ. Lauds is about 20 minutes. Deacons Chris and Charles lead Lauds and invite volunteers to lead at different times.
to join the Zoom meeting.
Please reach out to Joy Weir at
if you have any questions on returning to Mass. We want you and your family to feel comfortable with the registration process and knowledgeable of all the safety measures we have in place and will be glad to answer any question you have.
